LucidTrust Sponsors MISMO FRAME Workshop, Bringing AI Governance to the Mortgage Industry

LucidTrust is sponsoring MISMO's FRAME workshop on August 24, helping mortgage lenders build practical AI governance programs.

Mortgage lenders, banks, credit unions, and fintechs are under growing pressure to prove that their AI systems are governed, not just deployed. LucidTrust is sponsoring a new interactive workshop that gives the mortgage industry a hands-on way to build that proof.

What's Happening

MISMO, the real estate finance industry's standards organization, announced an interactive workshop centered on FRAME (Framework for Responsible AI in the Mortgage Ecosystem), its mortgage-specific approach to AI governance. The workshop takes place during the MISMO Fall Summit in Reston, Virginia, on August 24, and LucidTrust is the sponsor.

The session combines expert-led instruction with hands-on exercises and real-world mortgage scenarios. Participants will practice evaluating AI use cases, assessing system risk, and establishing governance roles and decision-making processes. They'll also learn how to build an AI system inventory, a foundational step for any organization trying to move from a written AI policy to a program that can withstand a sponsor bank exam, an investor review, or a regulatory inquiry.

MISMO is also introducing the MISMO FRAME Certified Advisory Partner designation. Organizations that earn it will have demonstrated the expertise, methodology, and professional standards needed to advise mortgage industry participants on AI governance implementation using FRAME.

Why This Matters for AI Governance in Mortgage

AI is already embedded across mortgage operations, from underwriting models to fraud detection to borrower-facing tools. Most organizations know about the AI their own data science teams built. Far fewer can account for the AI features shipped inside their vendor platforms, their CRM, or their document processing systems. That gap is exactly where regulatory and investor scrutiny tends to land, and it's the same gap we break down in our guide to AI compliance for financial institutions.

Frameworks like FRAME give the mortgage industry a shared vocabulary and a repeatable process for AI risk management. That mirrors a broader shift happening across regulated industries: general-purpose frameworks like the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (NIST AI RMF) and ISO 42001 are becoming the reference points organizations use to structure AI governance programs, inventory AI systems, and prepare for audits. Agentic AI, where systems take autonomous action rather than just generating output, is adding urgency to this work, since agentic use cases raise new questions about oversight, permissions, and accountability that most existing policies don't yet address.

For mortgage lenders specifically, the FRAME workshop is a chance to translate those broader governance principles into practices built for their industry: loan origination systems, underwriting models, and the vendor ecosystem that increasingly touches every part of the loan lifecycle.

LucidTrust's Role

"We're seeing tremendous interest in AI across the mortgage industry, but many organizations are still figuring out how to turn that interest into repeatable business practices," said Dominick Campagna, Founder of LucidTrust. "LucidTrust is proud to sponsor this workshop because bringing the industry together to share experiences and establish common approaches will help accelerate thoughtful AI adoption. FRAME gives organizations a practical starting point while encouraging the collaboration needed to move the industry forward."

LucidTrust is the system of record for AI governance. The platform helps regulated organizations, including financial institutions, mortgage lenders, banks, credit unions, and fintechs, discover and inventory AI across vendors, models, agents, and internal use cases, manage risk-based reviews and approvals, monitor change, and generate audit-ready evidence. Sponsoring the MISMO FRAME workshop puts LucidTrust directly in front of the mortgage professionals building AI governance programs from the ground up.

Get Involved

The workshop takes place August 24 during the MISMO Fall Summit in Reston, Virginia. For lenders evaluating their own AI governance maturity, whether that means building a first AI system inventory or preparing for a FRAME certification, this is a practical starting point.
